Jingliu Poelstra
Hi! Call me Jing, a wanderer from the Netherlands! I graduated with a bachelor's degree in pop culture in Leeuwarden, Friesland. I was adopted from China when I was 1.5 years old and in September 2020, I found my biological family and was able to meet them for the first time in 2023. As an adoptee I felt the strong urge to travel as I felt like I belonged nowhere and everywhere and since 2021 I have been living a nomadic life. I try to use my strengths to connect with different people, places, and cultures through photography. A self-taught photographer and have been working in tourism for several years. Most of the time we are too scared to do what we really want to do, but I believe we only have one life to live —so you might as well live it fully. I lived and worked in Iceland for over a year and after I traveled without a plan with my camera by my side, trying to find a balance between traveling, working, and volunteering. I hope my work reflects my perspective on the world —capturing moments, my love for the mountains and people As this is what I love doing the most, traveling, learning, and growing. Meeting people from all kinds of places, being able to teach each other something and connect. Open for collaborations or available as photographer
